1. Payment. For a single lesson, the student will be emailed an invoice after the lesson. For a five-lesson package, the student will receive an invoice to be paid in advance.
2. Cancellation and rescheduling. A lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance, by telephone, email, text message or WhatsApp. If a lesson is cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance, the lesson will be charged, regardless of the reason for the cancellation. If the tutor cancels, the lesson will always be rescheduled.
3. Refund of tuition fees. Refunds of prepaid amounts will only be issued if the teacher is unable to teach due to long-term illness. In that case, the student will be refunded the cost of the missed lessons.
4. Teacher’s obligation. Once payment has been made, the teacher is obliged to deliver the agreed lesson(s), insofar as this has not already been done.
5. Failure to pay. If the payment deadline has passed without payment being received, the tutor may decide to suspend lessons until payment has been made. In the event of complete failure to pay, the tutor may decide to terminate the lessons.
6. What is included in the lesson? 1. Teaching materials: documents and audio files relating to the subject of the lesson. 2. Answering simple questions by email. This includes all questions regarding lesson arrangements. The student should save questions about the lesson content until the next lesson.
7. Trial lesson. Prospective pupils have the option of taking a trial lesson at a reduced rate. A trial lesson is not available to those who have previously taken lessons with the teacher. This applies to lessons both within and outside the Jeroen Bohan Music Lessons organisation.
8. Lesson packages and individual lessons. Individual lessons can be booked at any time. Lesson packages of 5 lessons are valid for 3 months. There are two exceptions to this: 1. If a lesson is cancelled by the teacher, the 3-month period will be extended accordingly. Example: the teacher goes on holiday for a week during the period covered by your lesson package, resulting in a lesson being cancelled. That lesson will then be rescheduled and the three-month period will be extended by one week. 2. If the pupil temporarily stops lessons during the summer, they may carry over the remaining lessons to after that summer break. The summer break must fall within the period of July and/or August.
9. Preparation. The aim of the lessons is for the pupil to make progress. This is only possible if they practise at home. The pupil is therefore expected to do so.
10. Punctuality. If the pupil arrives late for a lesson, the lesson time will be reduced accordingly. If the pupil arrives early, it may be possible to start the lesson slightly earlier. The pupil may request this via text message or email.
11. Agreement. Making an appointment implies that the pupil agrees to these terms and conditions.
